Cornell Cooperative Extension, in conjunction with the Eat Well Play Hard theme, have regular programs for promoting lowfat dairy products and increased activity levels for educators.
Parks

The BEST Parks and Trails in the state are right here in Wayne County! Complete with playgrounds, great views or picnic areas, they are waiting for you.

New town sponsored activities abound, for example, Ginegaw Park in Walworth has a new Fitness Trail featuring 5 fitness stations spread out over 1.2 miles.

Kids a Cookin' - Where kids come first and cooking is fun!

Kansas State Extension has a great website for school-age "chefs-in-making"! The website includes videos of pint-sized chefs who work with Host Karen to prepare recipes that kids can easily make at home. The recipes are not only simple to prepare and affordable, but are an excellent way to share the joys of cooking with kids.

Jump into Foods and Fitness A youth development curricula from Michigan University Extension that has wonderful lesson plans and activities that combine healthy eating and physical activity. Parent newsletters included.
NAP SACC or Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child Care
Assessment, training and assistance for child care centers and pre-schools to improve nutrition quality of meals and snacks and opportunities for daily physical activity for 2 to 5 year old children.
Color Me Healthy
A curricula for pre-school age children including music CD and posters to encourage moving and healthy eating. Can be used along with NAP SACC.
TAKE 10
