Our Mission

Eat Well Play Hard Community Project is a state-wide initiative to work with local organizations
and families to prevent childhood obesity by…

  • Increasing availability and consumption of vegetables, fruits and 1% or less dairy products
  • Increasing physical activity among children

 

Cornell Cooperative Extension and partner schools; child care centers and pre-schools; after-school and other youth programs; community centers and others are working to ensure that the environments where children spend their time promotes healthy eating and physical activity.

 

Events and information contained here are sponsored & funded by a grant of the NY State Department of Health called Eat Well Play Hard Community Projects.  The purpose of the grant is to promote physical activity for families and youth ages 2-12, and to inform local community about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables and low fat dairy products.
